A Mobile Authenticator uses a Time-Based One Time-Passcode (OTP) linked directly with an authentication server to ensure credibility. The OTP itself is associated with a single account and remains valid for a limited timeframe.
OVEX recommends clients use the following Mobile Authenticators for their OVEX 2FA – this list is not exhaustive:
- Authy - Easy to use, feature-rich and supports multi-device sync.
- Google Authenticator - A widely adopted standard across major websites. It also has the some of the best UX in classical Alphabet style.
- LastPass Authenticator - Similar to Google Authenticator, but works within the LastPass ecosystem.
- Microsoft Authenticator - Also similar to Google Authenticator, but works especially well with Microsoft services.
